At Refari, we empower our clients with the flexibility to update their websites themselves or collaborate with specialists to implement these changes. To ensure that your website continues to perform seamlessly, we have compiled a straightforward guide of best practices to observe and pitfalls to avoid.

What Types of Adjustments Can Clients Make to Their Website?

1. Page Updates: Using the Elementor page builder, clients can effortlessly edit existing pages.

2. Post Updates: The Elementor page builder also enables clients to modify existing posts as required.

3. Adding New Pages and Posts: Feel free to enhance your website by adding new posts and pages at your convenience.

4. Form Creation: Utilize the pre-installed Gravity Forms plugin to create forms. Don't forget to update the notification email settings so you'll receive responses directly to your chosen email.

5. Integrating Analytics/Tracking Code: Integration of tracking codes is made simple with the Elementor custom code tool. Here's how to do it:

  • Go to your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click 'Elementor' in the left-hand menu.
  • Select 'Custom Code'.
  • Click 'Add New'.
  • Paste your tracking code into the 'Code' field.
  • Define the location and priority for your code, and add any relevant conditions.
  • Click 'Publish' or 'Update' to save your changes.

6. Plugin Integration for Additional Functionality: You can add plugins to enhance website functionality, but always check compatibility with the latest version of WordPress. Interestingly we always recommend going for premium plugins that do cost money, the reason being is that these plugin providers have more incentive to continue updating their plugin and ensuring it play nice with wordpress and other plugin updates.

7. Implementing Custom CSS: Custom CSS is welcome. For global alterations, use the Customizer's CSS section. For single page or post changes, use Elementor. Minimize the use of the !important rule to maintain CSS hierarchy.

What Actions Should Be Avoided When Your Website is Built with Refari?

1. Modifying WordPress Theme: Avoid altering the active theme in WordPress to prevent design disruptions.

2. Updating WordPress Plugins: Do not independently update plugins, as our rigorous security and compatibility testing ensure bug-free functionality.

3. Replacing or Deleting Plugins: The set of plugins on Refari's website is crucial; avoid deleting or replacing them except for client-installed additions.

4. Changing Global Style in Elementor: Refrain from adding preset colors or fonts in Elementor to prevent CSS conflicts with Refari widgets.

5. Adding Extra Caching/Optimization Plugins: Additional caching or optimization plugins are unnecessary, as optimal setups are already in place.

6. Additional SEO plugin: Do not install extra SEO plugins. We've pre-installed RankMath Pro. If changed, Refari will cease technical and on-page SEO for that client.

Should any critical components be altered or damaged by a developer (either client or third-party), we reserve the right to restrict or limit access. This protective measure helps us safeguard client sites from detrimental changes and avoid unnecessary repair work.

We greatly appreciate your adherence to these guidelines. Thank you for partnering with us in ensuring a smooth and successful web experience! ??
